Job Summary: 

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Solvent Mixer to join our production team. The Solvent Mixer is responsible for preparing and mixing chemical and solvent-based formulations according to specified formulas, ensuring product quality, consistency, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The rate for this position is $15-$17 hr.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately measure, weigh, and mix chemicals and solvents according to production formulas and batch records.
  • Operate mixing equipment, agitators, pumps, and control systems in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and other process parameters to ensure consistency.
  • Label, sample, and document batches in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
  • Handle and transfer raw materials and finished mixtures safely, using appropriate PPE and handling equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of mixing tanks, equipment, and work area to ensure a safe and contamination-free environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols related to handling flammable or hazardous solvents.
  • Assist in inventory control by reporting usage of materials and identifying low stock levels.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety issues, or deviations from standard procedures to supervisors.
  • Comply with all regulatory and company policies, including OSHA, EPA, and internal quality standards.
  • Operate pumps, receive solvents from tankers, unload drums into single gallon pails or drums, maintain inventory.

Requirements and skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in chemical processing or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in chemical mixing, manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment preferred. 
  • Ability to read and interpret batch sheets, safety data sheets (SDS), and operating procedures. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform physically demanding tasks. 
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with measurements, weights, and volumes. 
  • Forklift certification is a plus. 

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to chemical fumes, vapors, and solvents (with proper PPE provided).
  • Standing, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods.
  • Must be licensed to operate vehicle in accordance with state and federal law
  • Team player with organizational skills
  • Ability to lift or move heavy product

Physical Requirements

Physical abilities will include walking and standing on concrete/hard surfaces for a minimum of 2.5 hours to 8 hours at a time, ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds regularly and over 55 pounds occasionally, able to reach, twist, bend, kneel, climb a ladder while carrying product. May require the ability to drive a forklift and/or order picker. Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures and environmental conditions.


Candidates must submit to a drug screen and meet acceptable Motor Vehicle Report requirements upon the hiring process.
