The Production Lead will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity goals. This role acts as the first line of leadership for production employees, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve optimal results.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for a team of production employees.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality standards.
- Monitor workflow, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to improve efficiency.
- Train, coach, and motivate team members to achieve performance goals.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Collaborate with management, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve production challenges.
- Track and report on production metrics (output, scrap rates, downtime, etc.).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in window or building materials production.
- Previous leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read production drawings, use basic measuring tools, and operate production equipment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills both written and orally.
- Commitment to safety and strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
Work Environment
The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical demands may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
