About the Department
The City and County of Broomfield Custodial team is looking to hire a Part Time Custodian to work Saturdays from 1:00pm - 7:00pm and Sundays from 12:00pm - 6:00pm. This is a "floater" position meaning they will work in a variety of buildings, but will primarily work at the two recreation centers (Broomfield Community Center and Paul Derda Recreation Center) as well as the Broomfield Library.
Total Compensation Package
Custodian I Salary Range: $19.35 - $26.19/hour
Custodian II Salary Range: $22.26 - $30.12/hour
Position Duties
Performs general maintenance to municipal buildings including cleaning offices, breakrooms, locker rooms, restrooms, and public areas.
Custodian II is additionally responsible for using floor care machines for stripping, buffing, and waxing.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Completion of eighth grade or equivalent
Experience:
Custodian I - None
Custodian II - 1 year commercial custodial experience. Demonstrated skill with floor care machines.
After one year, Custodian Is are eligible to be promoted to Custodian II.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry, DMV check, and pre-placement physical. Based on assignment, may require CBI/FBI fingerprints.
Other Qualifications
Work generally varies based on schedule assignments with some holiday work required.
Individuals will be assigned a consistent work schedule that may change locations as needed.
May be assigned to day, swing, or night shift; schedule changes are awarded via shift bid process
Physical demands are described as medium (exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects).
Required to talk or hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; bend or twist from the upper body; use hands and/or feet to perform manual tasks such as push or pull; reach with hands and arms; squat; stoop; crouch; and climb or balance.
Attend meetings as assigned during evening hours in-person and virtually.
Work in confined spaces.
Requires indoor and outdoor activities.
Work in conditions of extreme heat and cold.
In-person customer/client/team meetings required.
Travel by automobile is required to attend meetings.
May occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles.
Tasks may require use of a computer for several hours.
The noise level in the environment is at times moderate to loud.
