The Position
The Educator, Hospital Service is responsible for maximizing donation through the education and development of Hospital staff. The educator will develop, facilitate, and document the onboarding and continuous education and training for the staff. The educator will identify, provide, and encourage development opportunities and ensure staff remain compliant with policies and procedures. The educator will foster a supportive and enriching continuous learning environment.
What You’ll Do
- Ensures the classroom environment is welcoming by having all materials and technology prepared in advance so pre-event time is used to build rapport and gain insights. Creates and sustains a supportive and respectful environment. Establishes the expectations for breaks, cell phones, side conversations, participation, and behavior (ground rules). Has a back-up plan if technology assistance is needed.
- Maintains the integrity of the instructional plan. Frequently references learning objectives and connects them to the content activities. Alters the planned experiences to align with the trainees’ needs and to support inclusion of trainees’ learning styles.
- Works with Instructional Design Specialist to develop and implement Demonstration Assessments on skill practice workshops.
- Employ strategies to keep learners focused and within established times frames while also remaining responsive to learners’ needs and concerns.
- Identifies participants’ varying learning preferences in the learning environment and makes appropriate adaptations in managing individual and group dynamics.
- Helps the participants to identify the benefits of the skill and of learning something new.
- Regularly job shadows with staff to ensure sustainment of policies and best practices.
- Partner with instructional designers to co-develop engaging, learner-centered training materials, including eLearning modules, job aids, and system guides.
- Ensures training content is updated and stays abreast of revised standard work or new processes.
- Partner with managers and supervisors on dashboards, auth rates, red box review to determine who needs it and if it is working.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree equivalent work experience is required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the department or equivalent work experience elsewhere
- Creates an environment that promotes learning.
- Proactively identify and recommend improvements to processes and procedures
- Fluent in the DDI concepts of Guiding Principles and Interaction Essentials
- Versed in applying A3 thinking to problems and issues
- Uses adult learning principles to adapt facilitation of learning sessions.
