Position Summary:
As a Welder, you will be responsible for operating MIG/TIG welding equipment and performing precision welding on various projects with a high level of skill to meet production requirements. This role requires strict adherence to quality standards, safety procedures, and company guidelines. You will collaborate closely with production leads to achieve daily welding schedules while maintaining quality craftsmanship and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components in accordance with prints and product specifications
- Review daily welding schedules with the Production Lead to ensure production goals are met
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine weld locations, component requirements, and layouts
- Inspect welds to verify compliance with AWS D1.1 standards and engineering specifications
- Perform grinding, deburring, and polishing to produce high-quality finished welds
- Utilize manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and hand tools to fabricate parts to specification
- Operate forklifts and cranes as needed to safely move materials
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and actively support safety initiatives within the welding department and surrounding areas
- Use computer systems to access prints and models, track labor, and review work instructions
- Work independently with minimal supervision, applying experience and judgment to achieve project objectives
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of MIG/TIG welding experience. Industrial machine assembly experience is a plus.
- Technical degree in Welding required
- AWS D.1.1 certification required
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
- Fluent computer skills (MS Office, ERP for labor & material, ADP, etc.)
- Ability to operate a forklift and use overhead cranes when needed
Physical Requirements:
- Work performed 100% inside a plant facility
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
