Summary of Job Functions: 

In accordance with The Arc of Anchorage's mission, vision, and core values, These duties are accomplished through the direct supervision of AMHR Case Managers and Peer Support Specialists. The (AMHR) Team Lead is responsible for the daily operation of AMHR programs by managing its resources in an efficient manner with outcomes that are aligned with the personal outcomes of the individuals served. The (AMHR) Team Lead is accountable to the person receiving support, their team, and the agency.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Ensures that the AMHR program, facilities, and vehicles meet licensing, health, and safety standards in accordance with established guidelines, directives, policies and procedures, and regulations. 
  • Ensures AMHR staffing patterns fulfill program schedule, daily activities, and each individual need.
  • Provides regularly scheduled supervision of Case Managers, Peer Support Specialists, and Behavioral Health Specialists.
  • Collects and charts data, prepares reports and maintains records
  • Attends in-service training, staff meetings, and treatment team meetings as required
  • Responsible for sharing in an on-call system to provide support to direct care staff and individuals receiving services
  • May perform other job duties depending on the department's needs
  • Responsible for facilitating staff meetings and coordinating staff training with the guidance of the Program Manager. Responsible for collaborating with community agencies. 
  • Works in collaboration with AMHR Program Manager towards common goals, developing staff member's skills, efficiently using time and talents, and committed to continuous improvement. 
  • Establishes and maintains effective positive working relationships with individuals, agency personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicates openly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • De-escalate individuals in emergency situations using crisis intervention techniques, and immediately contacts the supervisor and/or clinician. 
  • Maintain internal program statistics, referrals data, and follow-up records; enters data into EHR, AKAIMS, and other databases, perform electronic transmissions, and produce related reports. Performs filing in individual charts. 
  • Perform individual intake, program orientation, and individual urinalysis (UA)
  • Support individuals in completing assignments and provide feedback. 
  • Observe, redirect, document, and monitor individual behavior
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates discretion and integrity 
  • Transport and accompany individuals on approved passes. 
  • Resolves conflict effectively 
  • Adheres to policy, procedures, and regulations set forth by regulating authorities such as and is not limited to local, state, federal, CARF, Medicaid, and The Arc of Anchorage.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

  • Required: Associate's degree or Minimum of three years of social service experience working with individuals with Behavioral health challenges. 
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or Minimum of five years of social service experience working with individuals with behavioral health challenges
  • Has lived experience and ability to oversee peer support specialists and/or able to maintain Peer support train the trainer certification within 6 months of hire
  • Basic computer use and experience with Microsoft Office

Required Licenses, Clearances & Training:  

  • Background checks as defined by licensing agencies
  • Current TB test/clearance
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance [IF DRIVING IS AN ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF JOB]
  • Clean driving record [IF DRIVING IS AN ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF JOB]
  • Pass mandatory agency training (i.e., CPR, Mandt, Programs)

Equipment Use:

  • Personal Vehicle 
  • Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and other office-related devices.
