Position: Security Guard Supervisor

Full Position Salary Range: $27.87/hour - $35.31/hour

Starting Pay: Although our full pay range is included above, the budgeted hiring range for new hires is $27.87 - $31.59/hour

Schedule: Full-Time; ~37.5 hours/week; Benefits-Eligible
Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm; with occasional evenings and weekends

Abortion Care: At PPRM, we all work in abortion care. This role supports abortion care through direct clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, ensuring timely and empathetic support to those navigating abortion services.

Snapshot: The Security Guard Supervisor will be based out of the Park Hill administrative location and will be expected to travel to Fort Collins and Colorado Springs as needed to support site operations and onboarding. You will be working as a guard for a min of 3 days per week with approx. 2 days for administrative tasks. You will ensure continuity of coverage and leadership; the Security Guard Supervisor must be within one hour of the Denver metro area and be accessible during times when the Director of Security is unavailable (e.g., business travel, sick leave, or vacation). This role is critical in maintaining consistent guard coverage and operational readiness across sites.

Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • Valid armed security license and firearm permit for all relevant locations, or able to obtain prior to start
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in security, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, emergency response, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Primary Areas of Responsibility/Essential Functions:
You are a key player in helping to support the Director of Security as well as ensuring the safety and security of staff, patients, and visitors with proper guard training. This role is committed to upholding PPRM’s mission by maintaining a highly trained and professional security team, working to ensure all site schedules are filled, enforcing compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), overseeing onboarding of contracted guards to each site and ensuring the contracted guard company complies with all city/county specific licensing requirements for guards and yourself, as well as ensuring guards consistently meet uniform and conduct standards.
 
  • Respond to urgent staffing needs, including guard call-outs, and coordinate with the contracted guard company for immediate coverage solutions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the contracted guard company, ensuring schedules provide continuity of guard services, are communicated clearly and proactively, and that guards are providing excellent service to staff, patients, and visitors in alignment with PPRM values and SOPs
  • Act as the point person for both the contracted guard company and individual security guards, facilitating smooth communication and issue resolution.
  • Perform security guard tasks with a leadership focus.

Leadership & Supervision

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site security personnel.
  • Provide daily direction and support to guards, ensuring coverage and readiness.
  • Monitor guard performance and work collaboratively with the guard company to address any issues related to conduct or professionalism.
  • Ensure contracted guards have excellent customer service to staff, patients and visitors.
  • Collaborate with PP Security Manager to ensure all guards working at PPRM have been vetted by our team.

Training & Onboarding

  • Conduct onboarding for new security personnel, including site orientation and role-specific training.
  • Ensure all contracted guards understand HIPAA and the privacy of PPRM patients.
  • Ensure all guards have been trained by the contracted guard company in emergency procedures, de-escalation techniques, and use-of-force protocols.
  • Understand each site has its idiosyncrasies, which must be communicated /trained to guards working at these sites.
  • You will ensure contracted guards have the appropriate alarm codes and access for the sites they are assigned to by facilitating early communication with the Director of Security.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all shifts.
  • Update each site SOPs as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with security protocols and site-specific requirements.

Uniform & Equipment Compliance

  • Ensure all contracted guards are in proper uniform and equipped with required gear and consistent with all guards (e.g., radios, badges, firearms).
  • Enforce grooming and appearance standards in alignment with company policy.
  • Ensure contracted guard company-issued uniforms (hats, shirts, jackets) are worn and no personal clothing or hats.

Scheduling & Coverage

  • Assist with scheduling to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts.
  • Manage call-outs and coordinate replacements to maintain operational continuity.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Complete and review incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Security on team performance, incidents, and operational needs.

Security Guard Duties

  • Conduct security tasks such as, but not limited to: greeting visitors, bag checks, ensuring visitor sign-in, accountability for issuing and retrieving visitor badges, hourly rounds, monitoring cameras, radio checks, documenting protester numbers, following opening and closing procedures for facilities, reporting hazards/vandalism, emergency procedures, and monitoring protester activity.
  • Provide leadership and oversight—identifying areas for improvement across PPRM sites, mentoring team members, and setting a high standard by leading through example.
 

COVID-19 Protocol: Vaccination against COVID-19 will no longer be a condition of employment. However, all Health Center/Patient or Community Facing Employees, must have the COVID vaccine or wear a mask at all times beginning November 1st. Proof must be uploaded upon hire. You will upload a picture or pdf of your vaccination card(s) prior to your start date. 

Flu Protocol: All employees working directly with patients, the community or working in a health center will be required to have the flu shot or wear a mask during patient/community contact or while in the health center from November 1 – April 30 each year (Flu Season). Proof must be uploaded upon hire. You will upload a picture or pdf of your vaccination card(s) prior to your start date.
