We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Events Manager to join our team of talented professionals. 


The Special Events Manager is a dynamic and highly organized professional responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a wide range of events, from fundraising galas and special events to program-focused events. The Special Events Manager will ensure that every aspect of an event runs smoothly, meets objectives, and creates a memorable experience for attendees and raise appropriate funds when appropriate. Also coordinates sponsorship/table guests for any events sponsored by The Guidance Center. This role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.

Requirements

  • At least an associate's degree with concentration in Event Management or other related field including Hospitality Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration. 
  • A minimum of 3 years of event planning experience, preferably working with nonprofits. 
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) are a plus.
  • May travel at the request of the agency in response to marketing, public relations or media activity; a current valid driver’s license with no negative history is therefore required.
