Join our dynamic team and embark on an exciting journey of innovation and growth as we seek a hard-working and dedicated individual to fill role of Global Learning and Development Specialist to join our Global L&D team. You will be responsible for assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development initiatives to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of our employees. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, analyzing training needs, and providing strategic recommendations to align learning and development programs with organizational goals.

What will you be doing?

Learning Strategy and Planning

  • Support the development and delivery of the Smith & Nephew professional learning and development strategy and deployment of our professional learning programmes/ interventions to develop employees and leaders at all levels to enable our growth strategy and culture.
  • Implement learning strategies and initiatives that support organizational goals and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Bring best practice thinking and learning approaches to drive world class professional learning solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in learning technologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of learning solutions.
  • Contribute to the broader HR, Talent and Future of Work strategies.

Professional Learning & Programmes, Sourcing and Delivery

  • Design, develop, and deliver effective learning solutions, including instructor-led training, workshops, and other training materials.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify training and development needs across the organization.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and external vendors to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to stakeholders on learning and development best practices, trends, and innovative approaches.
     

Learning Performance, Governance and Metrics

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through various assessment methods, such as surveys, evaluations, and performance metrics.
  • Manage and monitor learning and development budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Drive and assess the value and effectiveness of professional learning solutions, maximising ROI of each programme or development activity.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement, by proactive engagement with the business and our learners, and drive that change. 

Relationship Management

  • Partner with People leaders, HR, and COEs at all levels to proactively understand unique business needs and ensure professional learning solutions/ initiatives are fit for purpose and drive business outcomes. To include identification and development of global professional learning solutions for employees and people leaders.
  • Work with internal and external customers to analyse the needs and align the product roadmap to strategic goals. 
  • Act as a champion for both internal and external customer focus and listen to and communicate with customers and stakeholders effectively; ensuring that procedures and systems are in place to inform and receive feedback from service users, partners, stakeholders and employees, and evaluating that feedback, taking appropriate action to secure continuous improvement.
  • Partner with internal departments to support talent management, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives.
    Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure learning and development programs are integrated with other HR processes and initiatives.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or relevant subject) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Member of an associated HR or Learning body.
  • Operating Mode: Work from office – Hybrid, 2 days in a week.
  • Experience: 4-6 Years of experience in Order Management, Customer Service, or Supply Chain with a focus on sales order processing and invoicing.
  • Proven experience as a Learning and Development Specialist or similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning evaluation models.
  • Proficiency in designing and delivering a variety of learning interventions, including instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess learning needs, design effective solutions, and measure impact.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, embrace innovation, and stay current with emerging trends in the learning and development field.
  • Relevant certifications in learning and development, instructional design, or talent development are desirable.
