Role Overview
The Car New Business team are responsible for acquiring roughly 1m new car customers for Hastings each year. We are looking for a talented Analytics Manager to work as an integral part of this team, supporting the shaping and delivery of initiatives that support profitable growth.

- While the day-to-day responsibilities of the role with be dynamic and vary over time, we have managed to categorise the key responsibilities into three key areas:
- Analytical decision making - Work as an integral part of the Car New Business team, performing analyses in support of key commercial initiatives.
- Enhancement - Enhance our standing reporting and MI as the needs of the business evolve
- People, Capability and Leadership - Play a leadership role in developing the analytical capabilities within the Car New Business team. This comes in three ways, direct line management, mentorship and further development of junior members of the team.

Essential Skills / Experience:
- The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious with a desire to get underneath and solve problems.
- However, you will also have a keen commercial eye - being able to understand the levers that make the business perform at a macro and local level.
- From a technical perspective, you will have a proven track record of using data to drive decision making within businesses. As a result, you'll have good experience utilising both SQL and Power BI.
- Experience working within UK personal lines, including both the retail and insurance aspects of the industry would be considered very favourably.
- As a result, you'll have developed a good understanding of – and proven ability to collaborate with – the functions that are vital for success as a digital insurer: Digital, Marketing, Retail Pricing, Underwriting, Customer Services, Claims and Technology
