Accounting Tech 1 en El Camino Real Charter High School

Under the supervision of the Director/Manager of Accounting & Finance, the Accounting Tech I supports the business office with a variety of tasks related to payroll, accounts payable, procurement, and other areas, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of school operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable. • Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies. • May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed. • Coordinates the purchasing and/or accounts payable process, collaborating with teachers and staff to generate purchase requisitions, reimbursement forms, and invoice payments while ensuring proper documentation is secured through the school’s financial software. • May assist with student store duties and facilitate merchandise and ticket sales, as well as collect fees and payments, within the student store. • Act as a cashier during school events, delivering exceptional service and fostering a positive experience for attendees. • Provide periodic basic computer support to staff and students as needed. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Knowledge of: • Basic knowledge of accounting principles • Knowledge of accounting software preferred Ability to: • Communicate clearly and effectively • Read, understand, and interpret accounting and fiscal requirements, procedures, and policies. • Ability to work in teams and with various stakeholders Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • One (1) year experience in accounting preferred. • Experience working with charter schools preferred. • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. • Coursework in accounting preferred.
