Job Summary:
As a Supply Chain Lead, you will oversee the efficient flow of inbound furniture shipments from suppliers to our distribution centers and retail stores in Colorado, Arizona, and Texas, under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager. This role centers on coordinating shipment schedules with carriers, modifying shipment destinations to minimize transfers between our eight distribution centers, and ensuring products arrive at the correct locations on time. You will monitor shipment performance, resolve transportation challenges, and work closely with suppliers and logistics partners to optimize the supply chain. The ideal candidate has a strong background in retail logistics and transportation management, with a proven ability to streamline distribution flows and improve operational efficiency across multiple locations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Shipping and Logistics Management
- Plan, schedule, and track shipments of furniture products from suppliers and distribution centers to retail locations and customers.
- Coordinate with transportation partners to secure delivery appointments that meet ship windows and warehouse restocking requirements.
- Proactively address delays and delivery exceptions with carriers and vendors.
- Reconcile Purchase Order acknowledgments between EDI and ERP.
- Coordinate inbound shipments with receiving teams to minimize stockouts and back orders.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Monitor inventory/logistics KPIs, including turnover rates, and on-time shipping performance.
- Prepare weekly reports highlighting inventory status, stock coverage, and shipping performance.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Act as the main contact for suppliers and logistics providers regarding shipping schedules and inventory flow.
Compensation Package:
Pay rate: Pay Grade G $60k-$80k annually.
Supervision Given and Received:
This position has no supervision responsibilities. This position is supervised and directly reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

- Advanced knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, importing, tariffs, customs, etc.
- Must be able to speak knowledgeably about all major logistics and import issues facing American Furniture Warehouse

Computer Skills:
Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, type 35+ wpm, advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), advanced internet research skills, and advanced experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software preferred. STORIS experience preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
Certifications and licenses related to logistics, inventory management, and customs are preferred. APICS/ASCM certification preferred.
Education and Experience:
Four-year college or university program degree with a focus on Supply Chain Management/Operations or Business Management; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience could be considered.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at various facilities.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 a day.
Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
