Reports To: Executive Vice President, Human Capital

Department: Growth – Human Capital

Location: Austin preferred; San Francisco considered

To support this mission, Serent has built a 25+ person in-house Growth Team that works directly with portfolio companies to accelerate growth. As a key part of this team, the Human Capital function partners closely with portfolio companies to identify, recruit, and place top executive talent and leadership.

Position Summary

The Associate Director, Human Capital Operations will be responsible for managing all operational and reporting aspects of the Human Capital function, while championing the use of Generative AI and emerging technologies to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and improve scalability.

This individual will provide meaningful support to the HC team, drive automation where possible, and ensure Serent’s HC operations and capabilities remain forward-leaning, efficient, and innovative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Executive Search Operations:

• Manage requisition inputs, including open/closed search checklists, and track searches in PowerBI (reporting) and Thrive (Talent Relationship Management system).

• Update all searches in SharePoint and Thrive based on weekly candidate updates/packs from search firms.

• Administer NDAs via DocuSign; manage filing of executed HC documents (NDAs offer letters, legal agreements, search agreements).

• Administer candidate assessments (Caliper) and metrics sheets as needed.

• Continuously assess how AI can automate or accelerate workflows (e.g., candidate summaries, reporting, document management).

Human Capital Operations (Non-Search):

• HC Dashboard Management & Reporting: Maintain 50+ data points across 60+ searches annually; prepare data and statistics for LP meetings, summits, and deal teams.

• Portfolio Company Management: Maintain executive/board records, oversee signed LOI processes, set up new portfolio companies with documentation/resources, and track exited companies for talent insights and compliance.

• Survey Administration: Lead annual performance reviews (executives, EC, P&T Chairs), board surveys, compensation committee processes, Glassdoor reviews, and CEO/CFO onboarding.

• Document Management: Maintain and enforce standards for organizing search documents, resources, and templates.

• Compensation Benchmarking: Provide ad hoc compensation data from internal and external sources for deal teams and portfolio companies.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years in professional services, operations, HR, or related field

• Strength in document management, operational/process management, and analytics.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines and diverse stakeholders.

• Skilled at organizing data from multiple sources into intuitive, accessible formats.

• Strong data literacy: ability to analyze, test hypotheses, and draw insights from complex datasets.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated curiosity and experience applying Generative AI to streamline workflows, improve reporting, and enhance efficiency.

Preferred

• Change management exposure: experience implementing new systems, processes, or tools across teams.

• Private equity or investment environment familiarity: direct or indirect experience with investor-facing deliverables, board processes, or portfolio company support.

• HR technology expertise: experience with TRMs, HRIS, or survey/assessment tools to streamline human capital operations.

• Interest in Generative AI, with hands-on experimentation using tools to streamline processes, improve reporting, or enhance efficiency.
