Exposure to teams

As a Graduate Analyst, you will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience in different teams across the company, such as:
  • Advisory: executing bespoke consulting projects for clients
  • Research: developing market forecast reports and original in-depth research on the future of energy systems
  • Commercial: directly contribute to Aurora’s commercial success
  • Software Solutions: developing and delivering services that enhance the value of our software

About the Teams:

Advisory
  • Projects include valuations of energy assets, modelling bespoke scenarios and asset configurations and conducting analysis to forecast asset economics for investors, banks, developers and utilities. Besides project valuation work, the Advisory team also works with governments and regulators on designing and evaluating energy policy.
  • While most projects last for around two weeks, some longer projects, such as multi-client studies or longer pieces of policy work, can take several months.
  • Graduate Analysts usually work alongside other analysts, and project teams are made up of one or two analysts, a project manager and a senior associate providing oversight. Teams re-form for each new project, so you will get the chance to work with everyone in the wider advisory team.
Research
  • Quarterly market forecast reports are the main output of the research team. Each quarter you’ll be updating our latest view of the evolution of the power system to 2060 by modelling energy markets based on the latest assumptions on power demand, commodity prices, market activity and policy. This involves a combination of desk research and modelling in collaboration with other teams. The research team also prepares regular mini conferences which involve presenting in-depth and timely analysis of a specific aspect of the market.
  • The reports are read by subscribers from across the industry, including developers, utilities, asset optimisers, system operators, policymakers, regulators, and others.
Commercial
  • In the GB&I commercial team, you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to Aurora’s commercial success, make a strong personal network with our clients and work with colleagues across Europe.
  • You will lead your own sales opportunities; from initial calls to proposal writing, pricing and contract negotiation.
  • You will also have the opportunity support in the ongoing management of client accounts, gaining a deeper understanding of why client’s use Aurora and how we can best support them.
Software Solutions
  • Product Team: Supporting the introduction of new software features and market expansions. You will learn and apply essential product management skills, gathering client feedback, writing feature requirements, contributing to the product roadmap, and collaborating with the Software Development and Modelling teams to build features. You will also work with our Commercial and Marketing colleagues to prepare feature and region launches, and broader go-to-market strategies. This role will equip you with the foundational skill set for a career in product management.
  • Customer Success Team: Supporting client onboardings, training, and workshops. You will assist clients in discovering new use cases and understanding how they can use the software to address their problems. You will also contribute to delivering bespoke projects centred around the outputs from our software. You'll analyse user feedback and usage to provide insights that inform product and sales strategies. This role will equip you with the foundational skill set for a career in software customer success.

What we are looking for

Our Graduate Analyst Programme is open to you if you are:
  • A final-year Bachelor’s student on track to achieve a first-class or high second-class degree (or equivalent)
  • A final-year Master’s student who holds a first-class or high second-class Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • A recent graduate with a first-class or high second-class degree (or equivalent)
You must be available to start in September 2026, when the programme begins.

We assess applications for evidence of the following qualities:
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, interpret, and make sense of complex information
  • Effective communication and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated quantitative ability (through academic, extracurricular, or work experience)
  • A proven ability to deliver high-quality work and manage responsibilities effectively 
  • Fluency in English (native level or professional proficiency – C1/C2)
  • Additional language skills are a plus – while not required, fluency in another European language is highly valued as we expand across international markets
This role is based in the UK and so the successful candidate will need to have, or be able to secure and maintain appropriate right to work in the UK in the role. Under the current applicable immigration rules our Graduate Analyst roles are usually not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
