Material Handler en Novo Building Products

We are looking for a Material Handler on our Second Shift at our Zeeland, MI warehouse.

Monday - Friday 

• Training Period: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Permanent Schedule: 2:30 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Schedule: M-F 2:30 p.m. - 11 p.m.  

Position Summary

The Lumber Warehouse Material Handler on Second Shift is responsible for maintaining efficient product flow throughout the warehouse. This includes restocking lumber and related materials, organizing inventory, and ensuring that all products are properly stored and accessible. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Restock by moving products into bins while checking the quality of the stock and tallying the bundle for system accuracy.
• Check the product for bad/defective pieces and identifies appropriately; note the number of bad pieces on the tally for updating the system.
• Operate motorized equipment (i.e., tuggers) as needed for the efficient and safe movement of stock and materials.
• Remains aware of possible hazards and maintains a safe work environment.
• Maintains a clean work area, sweeping, rebinding loose bundles, etc. 
• Other duties may also be assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Must be able to perform all essential functions, including physical requirements 
• Must be able to handle awkward product lengths physically and lift to 50 lbs without assistance. 
• Basic math skills, interpersonal/team skills, and reasoning skills are also required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.

• 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception
• 50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment
• 10: Working bent at the waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting
• Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.
