POSITION/SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Lift Maintenance Mechanic has direct operational responsibility for lift maintenance and lift public safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Assist in the monitoring and maintaining of lift equipment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance functions.
- Complete bi-monthly and wire rope inspections.
- Provide accurate up-to-date record keeping of completed maintenance.
- Assist Lift Operators in the monitoring and maintaining of lift equipment.
- Closely monitor lifts on a daily basis.
- Locate, properly use and care for all Lift Department tools and machinery, including skis, snowmobiles and trucks.
- Know, understand and comply with all C.P.T.S.B. and A.N.S.I. codes and regulations.
- Assure that safety practices are followed.
- Participate in daily safety meetings.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be an excellent record keeper and possess strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to handle stressful and noisy situations.
- Possess a basic understanding of computers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to navigate icy and uneven terrain.
Must be capable of working at heights in excess of 30 feet during summer heat or winter cold.
WORK SCHEDULES AND CONDITIONS:
Peak Season (winter) Work Schedules consist of working five days per week, including weekends and holidays, with frequent six-day weeks during peak seasons. Peak season is normally referred to as November 20th through April 1st. Work hours are determined by workload. Working in extreme snowy, cold and icy conditions.
Non Ski Season hours are typically 7:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and subject to change. You can expect to work on weekends and holidays during the summer months if special events warrant lift operations.
