Job Description:

As a Grand Opening Project Coordinator you will play a key role overseeing grand openings from conception to completion.

  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Establish and improve upon the existing Grand Opening process including but limited to the creation of a timeline, checklist, vendors, run of show, marketing materials, etc.
  • Provides support to the franchisees by managing the timeline of their grand opening.
  • The single point of contact between the franchisees and the corporate staff through the grand opening process of new and resale locations for all brands.
  • Ensure all disciplines of the grand opening are defined, scheduled, held to the timeline, completed, and communicated to the franchisees and corporate staff.
  • The UFG advocate for the franchisees during the grand opening process for new and resale locations.
  • Communicate via telephone and/or email with each franchisee for updates on the status of their grand opening timeline. Daily internal and external communications may be required as needed as the project is coordinated and tracked to a timeline.
  • Define the project management tracking procedures to provide real time status updates and utilize the tracking procedure to effectively communicate to franchisees and corporate staff on the daily status.
  • Produce an individual file system to allow for all status, communications, forms, dates and updates to ensure the grand opening is on time and a plan if the plan slips to ensure on time completion and success.
  • Research and identify new vendors, when needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.B.A., or B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or at least three years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Be determined, strong willed, and resilient.
  • Have excellent time management skills.
  • Be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Must have good listening skills.
  • Be able to prioritize and capability to change priorities as needed.
  • Have a pleasant, positive, and supportive presence to the franchisees and corporate staff.
  • Possess a determined and controlled presence to all involved.
  • Be highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision to accomplish all day-to-day tasks and unexpected situations that may occur.
  • Be open and adapt to constant changes.
  • Ability to engage and hold staff or sub-contractors responsible and to their tasks.
  • Ability to respectfully hold the franchisees accountable to complete their required tasks to meet the expected and committed timelines for a successful grand opening.
  • Must blend the ability to be focused and determined with internal staff to challenge them for completion as you coordinate the successful timelines on each discipline while maintaining a solid respect and working relationship.
  • Program or project management experience is a requirement.
  • Franchise experience in grand openings is a positive.
  • A never-ending positive attitude and commitment to customer service is required with 3 years of customer service experience or interaction.
  • Coordinator or manager experience is a positive.
  • Public relations or marketing experience is a positive
  • Must be willing to travel on a case-by-case basis, as needed (up to but no more than 20%).
