About the Role:

The Insurance Case Management Supervisor functions as an integral member of a multidisciplinary clinical team which manages the care of patients. They provide oversight of daily operations and supervise AIC Insurance Case Managers. The Supervisor ensures that current patient have updated eligibility and authorization information on file prior to each appointment. They work closely with the Clinical Staff, CSTs, PSTs, Patient Account Specialists, and the Reimbursement department in providing and promoting customer service, process flow, operational integrity, quality care and process improvement along with high service standards.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Experience/Education:

  • Associates degree or higher and/or equivalent experience
  • Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team.

Essential Functions:

  • Directly supervises daily operations of Insurance Case Management team.
  • Ensures clinic schedules have been verified by staff prior to each appointment, including updated eligibility and valid authorizations are on file.
  • Monitors all upcoming appointments and clinical follow ups to ensure that appropriate follow ups are completed timely.
  • Explores all treatment scenarios to ensure best possible option for patient and company.
  • Reviews and helps disseminate medical policy for various payors and therapies
  • Provides on-going, clear, measurable performance expectations and feedback for staff. Guides and counsels staff consistently.
  • Holds staff accountable for responsibility inherent in their position.
  • Serves in a staff development/mentor role to the Insurance Case Managers.
  • Participates in the orientation of new Insurance Case Managers.
  • Identifies employee strengths, developmental needs, skills, interests, and values to relate to organization needs.
  • Provides and documents on-going communication with payor case managers for updates, changes and authorizations.
  • Takes initiative to present ideas and suggestions to leadership.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain calm under pressure and cope with changing environment.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement processes.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with Company policies and State and Federal rules and regulations.

There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
