Process Control Engineer

Barnsley Plant

Role description

To maintain and improve operation of Manufacturing Control Systems

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of all Manufacturing Control Systems on plant.
  • Provide hands on maintenance and repair, technical support, to team and plant (25% desk, 75% plant).
  • Assist in the modification and improvement of Manufacturing Control System.
  • Control software backup for all Manufacturing Control System.
  • Assist with machine breakdowns across plant.
  • Assist shifts with breakdowns either by telephone or call outs.
  • Liaise with Tech Centre and contractors in the implementation of new Manufacturing Control Systems.
  • Maintenance of PLC system including backups and upgrades.
  • Assist and manage/ control contractors at new process system installations.
  • Plant control systems & servo drives, Heye, Emhart, Honeywell etc.
  • Assist in general electrical maintenance when required.
Required skills / qualifications:
  • Time served apprentice trained engineer with Higher National Certificate Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Understanding of Quality Systems and Compliance with Company ISO 9001 Regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of all Manufacturing Control Systems, electrical/electronic equipment.

  • Salary based on Grade 10 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary minimum £42,000 - £49,388 max
