*Compensation: Base hourly rate, plus share of gratuity/service charge; total compensation at least $19/hr. and typically $25/hr. or more!


Schedule: Flexibility and dependability is required. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Food Runners serve as the liaison between the Kitchen and Servers. Supporting the Food and Beverage team, they are responsible for carrying food trays to appropriate tables and serving food, as well as preparing service stations, clearing and resetting tables, removing trays from the dining/banquet rooms, setting up/breaking down rooms, and cleaning and closing service stations.

  • Set up side stations and perform assigned side work
  • Serve meals; place dishes by courses appropriately in front of each person
  • Fill waters, clear soiled dishes, keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean
  • Ensure all items in “to go” orders are correctly assembled, labeled and delivered to correct vehicles
  • Set up dining areas with the appropriate equipment and materials (tables, chairs, glasses, china, etc.)
  • Verify that all scheduled functions are set according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications
  • Set lighting, props, floral arrangement, decorations, etc., as specified in the BEO
  • Break down and clean service stations in the Kitchen at the end of the shift
  • Advise management of any complaints or concerns from Members or Guests as soon as they occur
  • Perform clean-up, closing tasks and other duties as assigned by management

Education, Experience, Skills and Requirements

  • Previous server/food runner experience, preferred; private club environment, a plus
  • Must consistently demonstrate friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, obliging and attentive service to Members and Guests in all areas of the Club, including the dining room, banquet, and spaces in and around the Clubhouse
  • Demonstrate outstanding professionalism and helpfulness to everyone, including coworkers
  • Approach each shift with a positive attitude and commitment to the team
  • Food safety certification (or must obtain certification after starting)
  • Must be dependable and available to work nights, holidays and weekends

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods throughout shifts and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • Push, pull, lift, move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties for extended periods, including moving large tables, chairs and other dining and event-related furniture and equipment
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
  • Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
