Grade: DCS Clerk Grade 7/8

Salary Range: $113,574 - $125,720 base + 12% Super

Government Technology Platforms (GTP) forms part of Digital NSW and delivers core and common digital capabilities and infrastructure solutions including cross sector leadership across NSW Government underpinned by the Digital Government Strategy. 

The opportunity  

We are inviting applications for the role of Infrastructure Engineer for Government Technology Platforms, within Digital NSW as it transforms to become the state's trusted partner to enable accessible and secure digital platforms and services for the citizens and business of NSW. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Infrastructure & Cloud, the Infrastructure Engineer supports the operation and control of the IT infrastructure (comprising of physical/ virtual environments, software, network services and data storage), either on-premises or provisioned as cloud services to deliver and support the information systems needs of the business.

Key accountabilities of the role:

  • Maintain the infrastructure and network support process to support the service level requirements of the business.
  • Use management software and tools to investigate and diagnose problems, collect performance statistics and create reports to minimise the impact of incidents.
  • Carry out operational procedures, including infrastructure configuration, installation and maintenance activities, to support the availability requirements of the business.
  • Use standard procedures and tools to carry out defined system backups, restoring data where necessary, to support the data retention requirements of customers.
  • Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution in line with agreed standards and procedures to minimise disruption to key information systems needs of the business.
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Windows OS, and Linux OS required.
