General Responsibilities/Job Summary

The Quality Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the quality standards of food products within the processing factory. This position focuses on regulatory compliance, quality control, and product safety, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and standards

Essential Functions/Duties 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with

1. Working knowledge of HACCP plan and HACCP checks

2. Working knowledge of SOP plans and SSOP checks

3. LOTO trained

4. Know all GMP's and plant rules

5. Must know how to perform GMP audits.

6. Water and ice monitoring help collect samples and send them to lab 

7. E-Coli and Salmonella sampling procedure.

8. Complete various checks, collections, and tests including but not limited to: Salmonella, E-Coli, presentation, debone, cutup, and chlorine

9. Knowledge of but not limited to: plant safety, calibration of scales, pest control, security/food defense, bloodborne pathogens, emergency action plans, mock recalls, MSDS, LOTO, animal welfare, and chiller management systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Previous experience in a quality control role within the food processing industry is advantageous. 

Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality control methodologies. 

Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. 

Proficiency in using quality control tools and software. 

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Experience: 

At least Six months of related experience

Computer Skills: 

Basic understanding of computers

Certificates & Licenses: 

HACCP certified preferred

Physical Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry      items weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand and walk for      extended periods, including on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to reach overhead and      bend frequently.
  • Capable of working in various      weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Must be able to use hand tools and      equipment safely.

Working Conditions

Temperatures vary from cold to very hot depending on the seasons and department. Wet and damp. Loud machinery.
