Purpose of Job
- Lead the ethical and responsible procurement of materials and services for Capital Projects and Turnarounds (TAR). Provide expert knowledge and technical leadership to deliver effective Capital Project and TAR Procurement strategy, planning, and execution.
Key Accountabilities
· Accountable for all procurement activities for Capital Projects and Turnarounds (TAR) for Sasol USA · Leads and coordinates team of Buyer(s) and Contracting Specialist(s) required to execute the Capital Project and TAR strategy. Includes day to day management of contractor service companies / staff assigned and coordination and oversight of any Sasol staff work activity. · Manages all Capital Project and TAR Procurement activities · Manages all Catalyst Procurement activities including precious metal leasing, catalyst handling services, support media, and metal recovery services. · Manages and maintains relationships with suppliers / contractors · Accountable for Capital Projects and TAR Procurement strategy development and implementing category strategies and ways of working to support delivery of schedule and budget · Supply Chain governance within area of responsibility · Supports development of Sasol Procurement processes, procedures and work instructions Ensures compliance to legal requirements and SOX reporting for all Procurement activities · Ensures compliance to Sasol code of conduct, compliance framework, and Procurement processes, procedures and work instructions · Manages Procurement invoice compliance and exception management · Manages expediting of materials · Proactively seeks to reduce Procurement spend and risk, increase value from our suppliers, identify work improvements to drive efficiency, and report on savings / value generated · Accountable for Capital Project and TAR sourcing events, negotiating, contracting and contract implementation · Accountable for business alignment, planning, and spend analysis · Ensures compliance to Sasol’s Approved Manufacturers List (AML) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) quality systems · Sets the tone and drives lowest total cost of ownership for Capital Project and TAR Procurement activities · Participate in audits related to Procurement activities · Accurate reporting of Capital Project and TAR Procurement activities and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) · Budget responsibility and cost management within area of responsibility · Developing and training personnel within the Procurement team · Builds and maintains collaborative and cohesive relationships with key internal business stakeholders to assist with improved demand planning, scope development, and quality of purchasing requests to improve Procurement’s ability to deliver the right materials / services, on-time, and at best total cost of ownership · Member of the US Indirect Procurement Leadership Team
Formal Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in a business or related field
Working Experience
· 3+ years previous supervisory experience
· 12+ years relevant working experience
· Capital Project and TAR Procurement experience, preferred
Required Personal and Professional Skills
· Certifications in supply chain management, project management, and or other related areas preferred
· Experienced negotiation and contracting skills
· Effective influencing and change management skills
· Strategic and critical thinking skills
· People development and management skills
· Effective at interpreting complex and multiple sources of information to make decisions
· Good working knowledge of computer programs including SAP, BW, Databases, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, Microsoft Office, and other related applications
· Ability to work in a team and excellent interpersonal skills
· Effective communication and relationship management skills
· Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
· Knowledge of procurement business standards, policies and procedures
· Ability to effectively collaborate across a regional and global organization
