We currently have an opportunity for a Full-time Trade Cook. Join our Health and Education team and play a key role in preparing nutritious, appealing, and high-quality meals for patients at Bendigo Hospital as part of our Spotless Food Safety Program. Reporting to the Catering Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.
What You’ll Do (key responsibilities)
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
• Set shifts: Thursday to Saturday, 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM – enjoy a predictable schedule while working in a dynamic hospital kitchen.
• Preparing, cooking, and serving meals in line with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Ensuring compliance with Spotless Food Safety Program and HACCP guidelines.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
• Collaborating with kitchen staff and hospital teams to meet patient needs.
• Assisting in menu planning and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring (experience required)
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification.
• Proven experience working in a large-scale or commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and allergen management.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
