Reporting to the Technology Operations Supervisor, the Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic will join our Autonomous Mining Team on a Full-Time basis at our Goldfields customer site. This role involves working on cutting-edge Caterpillar (CAT) and OEM equipment fitted with autonomous systems.
Roster: FIFO from Perth – Flexible roster, 12-hour shifts
What You’ll Do:
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on AHS-enabled CAT and OEM machines
- Install, calibrate, and commission MineStar system components
- Troubleshoot and repair underground machine systems
- Create and review technical documentation and schematics
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support site operations
- Ensure QA/QC standards are met for all installations and repairs
Skills & Experience:
- Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter or Dual Trade Auto Electrician & HD Mechanic qualification
- Strong diagnostics skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy diesel systems
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical specs
- Experience with CAT MineStar or similar fleet management systems (Desired)
- A passion for continuous improvement
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
