Reporting to the Technology Operations Supervisor, the Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic will join our Autonomous Mining Team on a Full-Time basis at our Goldfields customer site. This role involves working on cutting-edge Caterpillar (CAT) and OEM equipment fitted with autonomous systems.

 

Roster: FIFO from Perth – Flexible roster, 12-hour shifts

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on AHS-enabled CAT and OEM machines
  • Install, calibrate, and commission MineStar system components
  • Troubleshoot and repair underground machine systems
  • Create and review technical documentation and schematics
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support site operations
  • Ensure QA/QC standards are met for all installations and repairs

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter or Dual Trade Auto Electrician & HD Mechanic qualification
  • Strong diagnostics skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy diesel systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical specs
  • Experience with CAT MineStar or similar fleet management systems (Desired)
  • A passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
