Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Position Specific Performance Expectations:
o Oversees clinical nursing care, ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including
quality assurance, confidentiality, and medical record documentation.
o Coordinates, organizes and supervises the work of the Clinical Staff and programs to ensure that effective
services are provided and quality standards are met.
o Provides direct supervision to nurses and clinical or ancillary staff, ensuring appropriate assessment and
treatment of patient health.
o Serves as a key problem-solving resource for staff on patient issues.
o Develops, supports and maintains a culture of learning and growth/development for the clinical staff.
o Develops and implements an onboarding and competency program for all new hires.
o Collaborates with the Clinic Operations Managers, Chief Medical Officer and CEO on the development
and implementation of the nursing department’s mission, goals, policies, procedures, quality assurance
plan, and work standards.
o Studies patient needs/trends, analyzes patient flow problems, and suggests solutions to patient care
problems.
o Complies and analyzes data on patient outcomes and quality assurance results, goal achievement, and
performance/productivity, and prepares reports for clinic administration.
o Participates in medical practice planning as related to clinic and emergency/disaster response systems.
o Ensures that each department is clinically staffed appropriately.
o Ensures compliance with all regulations for all relevant governing bodies.
o Ensures all policies related to outpatient clinical care are current.
o Collaborates with the Human Resources Department on recruiting, hiring, orientation and training, and
evaluation of nursing staff.
o Demonstrates and emphasizes the service excellence philosophy utilized throughout the Memorial Regional
Health organization.
o Performs other duties as assigned.

departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.
o Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.
o Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with
all patients, staff and vendors.
o Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and
time.
o Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality
initiatives.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
o Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions)
o Must be able to legally work in the United States
o Must be able to pass a background check
o Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable)
o Must complete employee health meeting


Education/Licensure/Certification:
o High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
o Unencumbered License/Certification (if applicable)
o Current valid driver’s license
o Current Colorado RN or Compact License required
o Current BLS certification required
o BSN degree preferred.
Experience:
o Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience required, including two years of supervisory-level experience, preferably in a medical practice setting.

Knowledge Required:
o Strong Medical Practice leadership knowledge required
o Thorough knowledge of general Medical Clinic principles and practices
o Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine
o Thorough knowledge of patient rights
o Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety hazards and
standards, and health care laws and regulations.
o Knowledge of budgetary, supervisory, human resources, and quality-improvement principles and
techniques.
o Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) for auditing, error correction, training and reporting.
o Knowledge of medical terminology.
o Knowledge of clinical state-of-the-art advancements and trends in health care.
o Knowledge of principles of employee development to ensure appropriate training and mentoring of staff.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a variety of settings including office work and in medical clinic settings. Combination of
office, exam, and other clinical settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances,
medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic setting. May involve irregular working hours

    Compensation Range: $38.33 to $57.49
