Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock/consolidation/deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best-in-class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models.
- Independent Hauler Sourcing & Onboarding
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit independent haulers to meet regional and national delivery needs.
- Develop sourcing strategies to attract high-performing carriers, including outreach campaigns, industry networking, and digital platforms.
- Lead onboarding processes including contract negotiation, compliance checks, and system integration.
- Vendor Management
- Maintain strong relationships with haulers to ensure service quality, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, claims, and customer satisfaction; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance evaluations.
- Contract Negotiation & Compliance
- Negotiate competitive rates and service terms while ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Ensure all haulers meet legal, safety, and insurance requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage contract lifecycle and risk mitigation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, finance, and technology teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
- Support implementation of new delivery markets or service expansions by securing hauler capacity.
- Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Stay informed on industry trends, regional capacity shifts, and regulatory changes affecting independent haulers.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve sourcing efficiency and cost control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, logistics, or transportation sourcing, preferably with independent contractors.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and procurement platforms.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in final mile delivery or gig economy logistics.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and carrier compliance standards.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus for broader hauler engagement.

Pay Range:
Pay: $80,000 TO $85,00 Per year
Hours: Monday through Friday
8:00 am to 5:00pm
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
