About Us

At AustralianSuper, our mission is to deliver the best possible outcomes for our members. As we look ahead to managing around a trillion dollars for five million members, our risk capabilities must evolve to support this growth. Project MORE (Member Outcomes through Risk Excellence) is a Fund-wide transformation programme, cementing risk at the core of decision-making and uplifting our risk culture.

Our London office is establishing a dedicated team to deliver and oversee the implementation of Project MORE’s expected outcomes across international business units. We’re seeking a skilled Manager – Risk Transformation to lead this effort, collaborating globally and shaping the future of risk management.

The Opportunity

This is a unique chance to lead and manage a team of risk, compliance, and project professionals, delivering key initiatives that will transform our risk management framework and culture. You’ll work closely with the Senior Implementation Lead, International – Project MORE, and partner with stakeholders across Australia, New York, and London.

You’ll operate in a “think tank” environment, providing thought leadership, solving implementation challenges, and ensuring consistency of outcomes for our members and the Fund. You’ll influence change management, communications, and stakeholder engagement, making a real impact on the Fund’s future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the implementation of the MORE Programme across international domains.
  • Deliver milestones, artefacts, and governance interventions in line with a detailed project plan.
  • Proactively identify and solve implementation issues in a collaborative, innovative environment.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to programme and initiative leads, documenting risk acceptances as needed.
  • Engage and consult with leadership teams and risk stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and change management for new solutions.
  • Motivate and inspire your team, demonstrating commitment to the Fund’s values and leadership principles.
  • Build trusted relationships across all levels of the Fund, influencing and collaborating globally.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for an experienced leader with deep expertise in risk and compliance, and a passion for transformation.

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated team leadership in a risk management function.
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative, creative, and curious with a growth mindset.
  • Collaborative and persuasive communicator, able to support and influence team members.
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Poise and competence in high-pressure situations.
  • High personal integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to build and maintain quality relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Extensive experience in risk management, ideally in Financial Services, Investment Management, or Superannuation.
  • Experience with GRC tools (e.g., Archer).
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and technical disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations.
  • Proven ability to influence and push back where required.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, or Economics.
  • Regulated industry experience, ideally in financial services.
  • Project/delivery management experience.
  • Experience in a leadership or influential position.
  • Strong reporting, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
