Job Description
We are seeking skilled CNC milling and lathe machinists to join one of America's major manufacturing contractors for the nuclear powered U. S. Navy. Ideal candidates will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or milling machines to produce precision parts and components for control of nuclear power applications on our submarines and warships. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and the ability to work with various machining tools and instruments. The CNC Machinist will ensure that all products meet USN and D.O.D. quality standards while adhering to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment. Positions are available in both our Philadelphia and Quakertown plants for advanced apprentices and master machinists. Starting wage will depend upon scope and years of experience.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines according to specifications.
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to produce parts accurately.
Perform CNC programming, including CAM programming for efficient machining processes.
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges to ensure product quality.
Conduct routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes using GD&T principles.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 53 per week
