The Manager, Student Engagement is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing holistic programming to engage, develop, recruit, and retain graduate students in the Beedie School of Business. The position provides leadership to enrich the graduate student experience and foster relationships between graduate students, their organizations/clubs, the Faculty, Alumni Association, the University, and the community at large. The position manages student life programming through participation at case competitions and MBA Games, student organizations/club leadership, and events such as Orientation, networking socials, and development workshops. The position leads promotions and media related initiatives and develops a department financial plan for student activities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Manager, Student Engagement, is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing faculty wide, holistic programs and initiatives to engage, develop, recruit, and retain graduate students in the Beedie School of Business. The position provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategies to enrich the graduate student experience and to foster strong relationships between graduate students, their organizations and clubs, the Faculty, Alumni Association, the University, and the community at large. In this capacity, the position is responsible for obtaining buy-in, support, and resources from faculty, management, alumni and sponsors. The position is also responsible for the development and delivery of initiatives to promote graduate student involvement in curricular and co-curricular experiential educational initiatives. The position manages the student life program by managing student teams' participation at case competitions, business plan competitions, and MBA games. The position participates in the planning and development of publications, marketing, promotions, and media related initiatives. The position is responsible for developing an annual financial plan and managing budgets for all programs related to student activities.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Administration or Management and four years of related experience, including two years' experience in leadership and supervision, financial administration, event planning, program/project management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
