Your Opportunity

Stantec GS is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to work independently at the project site providing third-party inspection services for an administrative building renovation at Randolph AFB, TX.  To ensure success in this role, you will apply your knowledge of engineering fundamentals and safety regulations to ensure the soundness of building structures. The top candidates will be of unimpeachable integrity, detail-oriented, and assertive and able to obtain access to military installation.

Qualifications

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inspecting and documenting construction activities, the owners’ representative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Daily work at the construction sites and documents each stage of construction up to completion. Interpret plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with them. 
  • Prepare Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards. Maintains daily activity logs and reports.
  • Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments. Monitor contractor testing activities. Prepare reports on labor, material, and equipment on site. Determine construction conforms to plans and specifications, if not issue Non-Conformance Reports for corrective action.
  • Review drawings and specifications to prepare for the oversight.
  • Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for paying item documentation.
  • Inspect erosion control devices, ensure they are maintained and that they are in compliance with applicable permits.
  • Monitor and record materials certifications in accordance with the client’s procedures.
  • Determine ascertain structural soundness, safety, and compliance with regulations. 
  • Arranges, coordinates and oversees technical inspections such as electrical, mechanical, concrete, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) systems and reinforcing steel for conformance to specification requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Engineering, Architectural degree or suitable alternative.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a construction inspector on building renovations.
  • Proficient knowledge of fall protection and work zone safety.
  • Construction Inspector certification or similar.
  • Experience on DOD Installations
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Available to work shifts and weekends.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
