Pearl Abyss America, Inc. – the team behind Black Desert and the upcoming titles Crimson Desertand DokeV – is seeking a high-performing, creative, results-oriented, and quality-obsessed Business Development & Partnerships Specialistto help accelerate our gaming reach to millions of customers across all platforms (PC and Console) in North America.

The video game industry is transforming how players are entertained, communicate with each other, and interact online on their digital devices. Our team is looking for a Business Development & Partnerships Specialist who ispassionate and vision-driven to handle North American partnership deals and general business development activities from planning to execution. You will work closely with the marketing, content production, PR, and live-service teams to ensure all partnership deals and strategies are aligned with the business goals. You will also be the main point of contact for key current and potential business partners in the North America region.

This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to ensure all of Pearl Abyss’ current and future titles will achieve North American goals.

LOCATION: Manhattan Beach, CA (on-site)

JOB TYPE: Full-time

PAY RANGE: $65,000 - $70,000 per year

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Pearl Abyss games and brands with new insights and research focused on optimizing reach, brand value, growth, and maximizing current and future trends in the video game industry
  • Provide frequent strategic partnership reports and analysis of Pearl Abyss’ brand partnerships, along with competitor audits and reviews
  • Bring new business partners, agencies, and paid content creators for all brands and games; develop new activations and campaigns with said partners
  • Build, maintain, and improve relationships with key internal stakeholders, external strategic partners, marketing agencies, and paid content creators to scale to each respective game, including seeing through all approvals
  • Oversee key partnerships and vendors as the main liaison, facilitating communication, asset management, deliverables, and when applicable, invoicing and payment for partnership fulfillment
  • Create presentations and reports for previous business partnerships with KPI tracking
  • Collaborate in-office domestically and internationally to see each partnership through to its conclusion

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the video game industry, especially in business development, IP licensing, partnership management, business growth strategy, or video game marketing
  • In-depth knowledge of the video game market landscape, relevant entertainment industries, and value chain
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong network in the video game industry
  • Excellent project management skills with proven ability to drive results; an action-oriented and strong problem solver
  • Strong presentation skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand, interpret, translate, and communicate company business plans, strategy, and objectives
  • Experience with commercial agreements and the ability to identify and escalate legally onerous clauses

*Travel may be required for this position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in partnership/licensing deals for AAA titles is a big plus
  • Experience in launching AAA PC MMO or Console titles in the US/EU regions
  • Proven expertise in leveraging advanced AI tools (e.g., for research, creative concepts, and due diligence) to enhance professional output
