Project Engineer, Microgrids (Civil / Structural) en VoltaGrid

Position Title: PROJECT ENGINEER 
Location: HOUSTON, TX (CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS)
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: HEAD OF PROJECT ENGINEERING

Position Summary: The Project Engineer will oversee the civil and structural aspects of power plant construction projects. This role will focus on site development, foundations, structural systems, and coordination with construction contractors, vendors, and clients. The candidate will ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and to the highest engineering standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage civil and structural design and construction for power plant projects.
• Review and approve structural drawings, site plans, and foundation designs.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, civil vendors, and construction partners.
• Oversee site preparation, foundations, piling, structural steel, and balance-of-plant civil works.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Support procurement of civil/structural equipment and materials.
• Provide on-site engineering support during construction, addressing technical issues.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, and quality metrics for civil and structural works.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure seamless project integration.

Other Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in industrial or power generation projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, concrete/steel design, and geotechnical principles.
• Experience with EPC contractors and construction management.
• Familiarity with codes and standards (ACI, AISC, local building codes).
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
