The Braintree Public School District seeks a Long Term Substitute Administrative Assistant for House 2 at Braintree High School for immediate hire through approximately December 1, 2025. Daily hours of 7:00-2:30.
Job Responsibilities:
- House receptionist; greeting all visitors/parents, and assisting and aiding faculty. Types all correspondance, memos, letters, and reports requested by the Assistant Principal.
- Receives all telephone calls pertaining to Assistant Principal, faculty and students and addresses those that are appropriate.
- Responsible for all house office student records, keeping them updated, including transfers, new students, withdrawals, and transfers to other programs.
- Uses Aspen Student Information Management System to accurately track and maintain student contact information, discipline, attendance and academic records.
- Distributes all mail in the house office.
- Assists with conduct referrals/filing/communication with families.
- Maintains student files related to attendance, academics, and discipline information.
- Prepares the daily telephone list of attendance calls and tardies/dismissals.
- Distributes daily attendance report to staff after recording attendance and updates on data processing.
- Maintains accurate attendance records for detention and Saturday School
- Prepares documents for parent conferences held by the Assistant Principal.
- Maintains student registration cards relative to address, telephone numbers, emerency and parent contact numbers.
- Assists with morning coverage for teachers who are absent, making certain that if a teacher is absent, the substitute teacher is given a folder with plans, teacher schedule, and all pertinent information.
- Distributes student schedules and teacher schedules, keeping office copies for office use.
- Makes appointments and maintains calendar for Assistant Principal.
- Maintains a supply of forms used by teachers.
- Keeps record of locker number assignments, padlock numbers and combinations.
- Monitors student attendance through daily reports and collaborates with the Assistant Principal regarding tardiness, absences, excused absences, medical conditions and home instruction.
- Keeps a medical file every term to assure correct procedure regarding NC status.
- Distributes and maintains lists and payment records for student ID cards and bus passes.
- Performs other related administrative assistant duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Proficiency in typing and the ability to use current technology (MS Office and Google Office products)
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of common office equipment and machines.
- Ability to meet frequent deadlines promptly and smoothly.
- Ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff, parents and students in a fastpaced setting.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
