SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $84,500 to $130,000 / year. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.

SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Product Engineer to join our team. The Battery Product Engineer manages the product lifecycle for all battery products produced by Edge Autonomy, engages the R&D team, performs verification test activities, updates product requirements based on customer input, and works with the manufacturing and purchasing teams to improve product design, manufacturability, and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Perform ongoing validation testing based on product requirements.
- Generate engineering and manufacturing documentation as needed (DFMEA, DVPR, Drawings, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Product Data Sheets, Operations Manuals).
- Act as the battery product expert with internal and external customers.
- Work closely with R&D team to design, validate, and implement product ideas.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop Quality Control measures to ensure ongoing product reliability.
- Work with purchasing to select alternate parts as the supply chain shifts, or in response to changes in customer requirements.
- Lead products from development through manufacturing release and obsolescence.
- Be self-motivated, with a drive to complete projects and document results.
- Thrive in a small team environment.
- Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Product Development experience (3+ years)
- Product Management experience (3+ years)
- Battery Development/Testing experience (including experience with UN38.3 testing)
- Battery lifecycle analysis experience
- Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and multi-task
- Highly organized, reliable, and resourceful
- Flexible to travel to suppliers or customer locations as required.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- CAD (SolidWorks) experience preferred
- BS in Engineering or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely proactive with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
