GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Association Banking Assistant is responsible for assisting AB Portfolio Manager, and AB Relationship Managers. This position reviews the loan file to verify that data is complete and meets established standards, process documentation of loans and extensions, close loans and prepare for booking. The Association Banking Assistant occasionally processes additional AB paperwork, run reports and distribute as needed and may communicate with AB clients via email, phone, or in-person.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Request loan documents from the appropriate party (internal or external). Order supporting loan documentation. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
2. Review LOM for accuracy and submit LOM to loan ops. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
3. Close loan if needed / Fund Loan. Prepare loan package for shipping and booking. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
4. Pull maturity and past due reports. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
5. Inform officer of required documentation for loan renewals. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
6. Assist in clearing collateral / credit exceptions. Process draw requests / loan payments / transfers. Handle loan research issues / questions. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
7. Forward documents to loan ops for scanning. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
8. Coordinate pre-funding review. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
9. Run reports from internal systems and distribute as needed. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
10. Communicate with AB clients via email, phone, or in-person. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
11. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
12. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
