SUMMARY

The Billing Supervisor monitors and coordinates the Billing efforts for all NEVHC clinic sites.  Manages patient accounts to ensure timely payments from third-party carriers and patients

REPORTS TO:  Patient Billing & Collections Manager

REQUIREMENTS 

1. Associate degree is desirable, with previous collections experience or at least three years of management experience in a clinic or medical group setting.  

2. Proficient in knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medi-Care, Managed Care and third-party billing.

3. Working knowledge ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPC’s, and claim forms, such as CMS-1500 and UB-04.

4. Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets. 

5. Demonstrated supervisory skills sufficient to supervise from 5 to 10 employees.

7. Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, electronic practice management systems and database systems.

8. Effective verbal, written, and public speaking communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others. 

9. Effective work organization skills. 

10. Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.

11. Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.

12. Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision.    Self-starter and dependable.  

13. Fluency in English (speak, read and write).

14. Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations.

15. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.

16. Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
