The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of warehouse equipment, conveyor systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operations at Serv-U-Success’ Grandville Distribution Center, and support as needed at the Grand Rapids Express warehouse. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on conveyor systems, equipment, and building infrastructure.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace conveyor components such as motors, belts, rollers, and bearings.
Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of conveyor lines and related systems.
Perform minor electrical maintenance (e.g., fixtures, ballasts, wiring tasks not requiring a licensed electrician).
Follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards.
Maintain safe exterior grounds, including snow and ice removal, salting walkways, and general upkeep.
Assist with general facility maintenance (e.g., lighting, doors, fixtures, structural needs).
Maintain spare parts inventory and notify management when replacements are required.
Respond to on-call and emergency maintenance needs (nights, weekends, and holidays as required).
Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate promptly with management about issues or risks.
Desired Education, Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in maintenance-related fields preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in warehouse, industrial, or facility maintenance preferred.
Experience with conveyor systems, motors, belts, and rollers strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
Familiarity with electrical systems; able to perform non-licensed electrical troubleshooting.
Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and demonstrated commitment to safe work procedures.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record.
