The Information Technician reports to the Director of IT and is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware.  Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner ensures maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software;
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system;
• Be familiar with installed hardware and software in all areas of the casino;
• Be familiar with network operating systems;
• Act as second level resource to Systems Technician in problem resolution and for training purposes;
• Perform system analysis functions, working with user departments in determining functional specifications, hardware and software needs;
• Design, develop, create and test modifications to systems, setup parameters and programs based on user requirements;
• Train staff about potential uses of existing and new technology;
• Provide individual training and support on request;
• Provide recommendations about accessing information and support;
• Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources;
• Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access;
• Investigate, troubleshoot and research all technology issues;
• Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance;
• Research and make recommendations about purchase of technology resources;
• Research current and potential resources and services;
• Install work stations;
• Connect and set up hardware;
• Load all required software;
• Monitor security of all technology;
• Input and maintain IP addresses on hardware resources;
• Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status;
• Ensure installation of lock out programs;
• Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate;
• Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal;
• Excellent internal/external guest service;
• Create, train, support for all computer users in company;
• Maintain backups of all systems in company;
• Inventory control of all software and hardware;
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.
