The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and inspiring a team of 5 or more full-time employees within a designated Business Unit. This role is central to fostering a high-performing, values-driven culture through effective leadership, clear communication, and personal example. The Production Supervisor trains, guides, and develops team members—both professionally and personally—while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This position reports to the Business Unit Manager.
This role will be for an afternoon or midnight shift.
A successful candidate will possess knowledge of metal fabrication processes and equipment. Key responsibilities include workforce planning, employee development, performance management, and resolving day-to-day operational issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide daily leadership, coaching, and mentorship to production team members with a focus on individual growth and team cohesion.
Learn and model Life Languages® principles to promote self-awareness, communication clarity, and stronger interpersonal dynamics.
Lead with a servant mindset by creating an inclusive environment where team members feel valued, heard, and supported.
Communicate job expectations clearly and hold team members accountable through regular, constructive feedback and performance reviews.
Execute daily production plans by organizing workflow, prioritizing safety and quality, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Monitor product quality and address issues to maintain high standards.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Identify and address training needs to build a more skilled and confident team.
Use measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and technology (e.g., Microsoft Office) to support production operations.
Collaborate with peers and leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Proactively resolve employee concerns and promote a positive, solutions-focused environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a production or operations supervisory role.
Hands-on experience with fabrication of steel, aluminum, metal, or related materials.
Proven leadership skills with a strong ability to inspire, develop, and retain talent.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a heart for servant leadership.
Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn and apply Life Languages® framework.
