Dawn Inspire Internship Program interns will benefit from:

Work Eligibility & Travel Requirements: Hybrid internship - 3 days a week onsite at our Jackson, Michigan Home Office.
Interns will be required to be on-site at the Corporate Jackson office from May 18 - May 21 for onboarding, and from August 4 - 7 for final presentations. These are mandatory in-person participation dates for the internship program.
What Does It Take to be a Supply Chain Strategy & COE Intern?
Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Inspire Internship Program.
- Must be pursuing a Supply Chain/Logistics or Business bachelor’s degree.
 
- The candidate must be entering their junior year or beyond with an interest in logistics.
 
- Current academic status must reflect good performance in relation to institutional academic standards.
 - Strong interest in logistics, warehousing, or transportation.
 - Experience with Microsoft Excel and basic functions such as pivot tables.
 - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
 - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
 - Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
 - Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
 - Adaptability and willingness to embrace feedback and eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
 - Oral and Written Communication - ability to communicate to all levels of team members.

What You'll Do as a Supply Chain Strategy & COE Intern
- Conduct research on assigned topics and present findings to the team.
 - Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
 - Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in your field of interest.
 - Actively seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills relevant to your career goals.
 - Take initiative to suggest process improvements and contribute innovative ideas.
 - Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and support our culture throughout the duration of the Internship Program.
 - Identified projects that you will be responsible for:
- Interview stakeholders to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost improvement through technology and analytics in warehouse and delivery operations.
 - Analyze historical spend across Dawn’s Facilities, Fleet, and MHE to uncover opportunities to reduce downtime.
 - Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement team to optimize daily operational costs.
 - Gain a comprehensive understanding/knowledge of Dawn’s Supply Chain- Procurement Strategy & Center of Excellence team.
 - Create models and determine outcomes/best practices using appropriate techniques (such as simplified problem-solving methods) while leveraging data from applications to provide suggestions for improvement.
 - Map processes and conduct root-cause analyses using CI methodologies.
 - Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Operations, Safety, Quality, Warehouse, SC Technology, Continuous Improvement, Fleet/Facilities & MHE, and Project Management.
 
 - Other duties as assigned

Compensation
Undergraduate - $26/hr
Graduate - $28/hr
