The Practice Development Coordinator (PDC) will serve as a trusted advisor to the Practice Development Manager (PDM), Practice Development Senior Specialist (PDS) and other practice development team members in support of the Practice Group Leaders (PGLs), Specialty Group Leaders (SGLs) and partners in the Strategic Transations Group. The PDC, in coordination with the PDMs, will act as an advisor and liaison on behalf of their practice group with other practices, attorneys and business support departments at the firm.
The PDC will work directly with the PDM to support the implementation of the overall strategy, may work with partners to drive pieces of the strategy, and ensure the operational efficiency within the assigned practice group. In this role, the PDC will report to the PDM and work closely with other departments (e.g., Business Development, Finance, Marketing, Knowledge Management, Attorney Development, etc.) to support elements of the practice’s strategic vision, business operations, financial profitability, resource management, and goals of the Strategic Transactions practice.
Responsibilities:- Alongside the SPDS, prepare and submit legal rankings submissions to relevant directories and publications, working closely with the SPDS and the Practice Development Manager (PDM).
- Draft and distribute an internal biweekly newsletter focused on IP updates and developments, in collaboration with the SPDS and PDM.
The role includes coordinating group meetings, including scheduling and agenda management, in partnership with the SPDS and PDM to ensure effective communication. - Book conference rooms and manage related logistics for meetings and events, working with the SPDS and PDM as needed.
- Compile ECVC (Emerging Companies & Venture Capital) deal round-ups for internal reporting, in close coordination with the SPDS and PDM.
- The role involves conducting weekly audits of matters to ensure accurate tracking and reporting, with input from the SPDS and PDM.
Generate and distribute partner hours reports for practice management, collaborating with the SPDS and PDM. - Manage the associate pipeline, including tracking assignments and workflow, with support from the SPDS and PDM.
- Work alongside PDM and practice group leadership to support development and implementation of strategic group plan. Manage select work streams and initiatives in support of the strategy and practice priorities.
- Support daily operations of the assigned practice group, including the preparation and design of (and in certain cases, managing) PG substantive meetings that maintain focus on PG priorities.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and efficiency in business operations, matter management, infrastructure and methodologies. Work with PDM to develop solutions and plans for corresponding actions.
- Working with the Public Relations, Communications and Events teams, support planning of external marketing opportunities that raise the profile of the practice and partners, including identification of speaking opportunities, conferences, sponsorships, and writing opportunities to enhance knowledge marketing efforts.
- Coordinate and prepare legal ranking submissions in collaboration with the Public Relations/ Marketing Communications team; work with PDM and PDS to determine rankings strategy for each submission, draft and finalize submissions accordingly.
- An undergraduate degree. A minimum of 1-3 years work experience preferred.
- A background in business or equivalent experience is desirable. Familiarity with the asset management industry is a plus.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
Boston: $55,400 - $80,300
Working Conditions:
