About the Role
The Quality Assurance Lead is essential to manufacturing operations. The role is responsible for monitoring the consistency of material entering the factory, in-process check points during the assembly of the equipment and the outgoing product quality, ensuring every product meets rigorous standards. You will be the key guardian of our quality assurance processes, monitoring every phase from incoming materials to finished goods, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Consistency Monitoring: Oversee the inspection and verification of all materials entering the factory, ensuring they meet established specifications and quality standards. Lead and coordinate daily QC/QA activities, ensuring timely and accurate inspections, testing, and documentation.
- In-Process Quality Control: Lead and coordinate daily QC/QA activities, ensuring timely and accurate inspections, testing, and documentation. Implement and manage critical checkpoints throughout the assembly process of TNA equipment, guaranteeing each stage conforms to operational benchmarks and compliance requirements.
- Outgoing Product Quality Assurance: Conduct final inspections on completed products, certifying that only high-quality items are dispatched to clients and end-users.
- Deficiency Identification: Act promptly when non-conformities or deficiencies are detected, performing thorough root cause analysis and documenting findings. Ability and authority to cease production and customer shipments, and quarantine any defective part within the manufacturing process
- CAPA Implementation: Develop, recommend, and execute corrective and preventative action plans (CAPA) to address deficiencies and prevent recurrence, ensuring long-term quality improvements are achieved and sustained.
- Measurement & Reporting: Establish measurable indicators and KPIs to track quality improvements. Monitor and report on key quality metrics and trends to support decision-making.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a point of contact for quality-related issues. Work closely with procurement, production, technicians and operators to foster a culture of quality and encourage proactive problem-solving.
- Training & Mentoring: Train and mentor QC/QA team members and production staff on quality standards and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data analysis, feedback, and industry advances to enhance quality assurance processes.
Qualification and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related discipline (preferred) or Technical College—trade qualification, diploma.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role with experience in QC/QA within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
- Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent) and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing CAPA and statistical process control (SPC) with proven results in measurable improvement.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in quality management and process control.
- Highly skilled in root cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and the use of quality tools (such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO standards).
- Familiarity with ERP and quality management systems (QMS) is preferred.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
