Job Description:

Reporting to the Project Controls Director, the incumbent will interact with the different departments and projects across North America to establish and maintain controls and processes that ensure projects are delivered on time and within the required schedule, quality and budget from bidding to project close-out. The incumbent will develop and implement cost control policies and procedures with particular focus on:

  • Monthly closing: Ensure that monthly closing procedures are implemented including analysis of deviations and trends and generation of reports as needed.
  • Project Budgeting: Work with the teams to ensure that the budget represents the reality of the project not only in terms of cost but also schedule. Identify areas of concern as well as risk and opportunities.
  • Resource Management: Conduct regular reviews of project costs and cash flow, ensuring

that all outgoings are accounted for. Undertake regular resource planning to track utilization of staff ensuring productivity objectives are met.

  • Reporting: Develop and implement project reporting methods. Ensure reporting

is consistent and that all stakeholders receive the relevant information using a single source of truth

  • Performance: Cost control monitoring to identify areas of concern in projects and implementation of strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Bidding: Cost and schedule analysis during the bidding process to ensure we implement lessons learned and best practices. Identify areas of concern as well as risk and opportunities.
  • Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with the project teams to jointly review monthly closings, project budget, performance, etc.

Skills & experience

  • 7+ years of experience delivering infrastructure projects
  • BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related degree
  • Prior experience in monthly closing, project budgeting and scheduling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS

Outlook, and good knowledge of scheduling software i.e. Primavera P6
