The Role

 

The role will lead and manage the CAA’s Revenue financial planning and analysis team. The role holder will be responsible for all revenue reporting and accounting activities and will be the primary business partner for revenue reporting in the CAA. This role plays a critical role in driving revenue optimisation and financial performance for the organisation. This position requires a deep understanding of financial analysis, strategic planning, and business partnering to support revenue-focused initiatives.

 

Core Accountabilities

 

Revenue Analysis and Forecasting

 

  • Develop and maintain revenue forecasts (Monthly), budgets (Annually), and financial models for the entirety of the statutory revenue portfolio (c. £140m PA).
  • Analyse revenue trends, identify key drivers of revenue growth and future risks to revenue.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on revenue optimisation strategies.

 

Strategic Planning

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans that support revenue optimisation.
  • Support the development of long-term financial plans and stakeholder consultations for new revenue mechanisms and opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of strategic initiatives and their financial impact.

 

Business Partnering

 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units and colleagues at all levels of seniority, providing financial insights and guidance on revenue-related matters.
  • Partner with Regulatory, Corporate and Strategy colleagues to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Facilitate financial decision-making by providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Coaching and developing the awareness of revenue amongst non-financial colleagues at all levels of seniority.

 

Performance Management

 

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue and financial performance.
  • Conduct variance analysis and identify areas of risk/opportunity and underlying drivers.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.

 

Risk Management

 

  • Identify and assess financial risks related to revenue streams.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.

 

People

 

  • Line management responsibility for the revenue FP&A function, ensuring optimal performance and supporting their development.

 

About You

 

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Professional accounting qualification desirable, may be suitable for a part-qualified accountant with ample experience.
  • Proven experience in a finance business partner role, with a focus on revenue.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).

Additional Information

 

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

 

To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. For this role this will need to be 5 years.

Relocation & Property

The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.

 

We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.

 

We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
