This is rooted in EY’s SAP service line capabilities (Supply Chain, FICO, BPC, Data & Analytics, Customer, Tech/Arch and SuccessFactors) that are focused on helping clients improve performance and increase productivity.
The opportunity
As the Deployment Lead, you will focus on de-risking large SAP implementations by collaborating with business stakeholders to develop strategies that mitigate risks during the transition to a new ERP solution. You will oversee three pillars of Deployment: Business/Site Readiness, Cutover, and Hypercare. Your responsibilities will encompass managing all aspects of business preparation leading up to go-live through hypercare and transition to the long-term support for the organization. This includes ramping down business activities, planning the freeze and ramp up, executing cutover, and managing post-go-live support activities.
As a Senior Manager in our Technology practice, you will play a pivotal role in interacting with business stakeholders to evaluate and analyze business models, processes, and operations. You will translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure that newly implemented technology solutions meet these requirements. Your collaboration with technical teams will be crucial in designing and delivering effective system architecture solutions.
Your key responsibilities
In this role, you will manage and deliver complex processes and solutions while maintaining a strong focus on quality and risk management. You will face challenges that require innovative problem-solving and analytical skills, allowing you to develop your expertise in technology analysis and implementation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading engagement delivery and managing client relationships on a daily basis.
- Overseeing program/project management and ensuring engagement economics are met.
- Developing resource plans and budgets for complex engagements.
- Driving large-scale sales pursuits and cultivating long-term client relationships at all levels across Consumer Business, Manufacturing, Technology or Industrial Products sectors.
- Building market presence by understanding client contexts and aligning them with SAP solutions, roadmaps, and strategies. Developing a robust pipeline by collaborating with sector alliance leads and SAP solution capabilities.
- Utilizing an integrated sales framework to proactively drive large-scale SAP pursuits. Incorporating innovative solutions to address client transformation needs and leveraging unique client experiences to achieve successful sales conversions.
- Leading program and project management, with necessary travel to meet client needs.
- Managing client relationships, engagement economics and resource planning.
- Delivery high-quality SAP projects or workstreams or serving as the delivery lead to support operations.
Skills and attributes for success

- Strong technical skills in application functional design and technology business requirements definition.
- Proven ability to analyze and map technology cost-benefit scenarios.
- Expertise in system configuration design and business architecture frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Proven ability to drive complex project plans to completion by proactively identifying risks and relevant mitigations.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with one or more SAP Modules.
- At least 5 years of experience leading large SAP deployments across Consumer Business, Manufacturing, Technology or Industrial Products sectors.
- Experience managing SAP projects or workstreams, including project-based and support team members.
- Experience will all pillars of deployment and de-risking business transitions.
- Experience managing offshore and remote delivery teams.
- Knowledge of best practices, benchmarking, peer company environments and prior advisory experience related to industry-specific finance and technology functions.
- Strong research skills to address client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
- A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- A master’s degree.
- Prior consulting experience.
- SAP certification(s)
- Experience with at least one full cycle implementation of your core module.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $171,600 to $392,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $205,900 to $445,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
