Summary: Nemours Children’s Health seeks a dynamic Division Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology. The ideal candidate will provide vision, leadership, and oversee all divisional missions, including care delivery, education, research, and advocacy. The Division Chief reports directly to the Chair of Pediatrics. 

Essential Functions

  • Strategic vision and guidance to strengthen the clinical operations of the Division of Endocrinology
  • Fiscal stewardship and operational management
  • Enhancement of the division’s research and academic agenda
  • Recruitment, retention, development and mentorship of faculty
  • Support of clinical training and education for interns, residents, and fellows

     

The Division of Endocrinology is a dedicated team comprising eight board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, one fellow, one physician assistant, four nurse practitioners, and eight specialty nurses. The division also includes the Health Weight and Wellness Program, with five physicians, two physician assistants, two exercise physiologists, and a specialty nurse. The clinical teams are supported by a multidisciplinary group of dietitians, social workers, psychologists, and administrative staff. Each year, the team provides care to approximately 9,700 unique patients across seven clinic sites.

The endocrinologists offer comprehensive diabetes management programs led by certified diabetes education specialists and address a wide range of endocrine disorders. The diabetes education program is accredited by the American Diabetes Association. The Health Weight and Wellness team manages obesity-related comorbidities and offers medical evaluation and therapy, as well as bariatric surgery, exercise therapy, nutrition, and behavioral health support.

In addition to clinical care, the division is actively involved in research and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes. The program is also a contributing member of the T1D Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative Network. Notably, the division is ranked among the top endocrinology programs by U.S. News & World Report.

Nemours Children’s Health- Delaware is the teaching hospital/clerkship site for the Pediatric Residency Program of Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) of Thomas Jefferson University/Nemours Children's Health, Delaware. Faculty appointment and advancement are available through Jefferson University’s SKMC.

Qualifications: 

  • MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent clinical doctoral degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology
  • Eligibility for DEA and Delaware state licensure
  • A successful track record in advancing clinical growth, research, and a demonstrated commitment to education
  • Administrative experience and leadership qualities to advance a highly collegial and collaborative division
  • An academic record commensurate with appointment at the rank of Associate or full Professor
