The Manager of Project Management is responsible for efficient project execution of complex automation projects through a team of Project Managers (PRMA). The Manager of Project Management is responsible for providing oversight management, helping manage risk, monitoring project financials, and keeping the organization aware of potential program challenges. This role will help develop and lead a high-performing team of Project Managers through coaching, mentoring, and training. The Manager of Project Management will fulfill our commitments to the customers while following internal processes and procedures which ensure consistency and efficiency in the project management process. The Manager of Project Management will also act as a liaison between the PRMA and customer representatives at times of escalation to resolve conflicts and ensure customer satisfaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and communicate project status as well as understand resources required to meet project commitments.
- Manage a team of PRMA with varying levels of experience and expertise.
- Create and execute upon a development plan with performance reviews, coach to strengthen skillsets, and drive consistency amongst the PRMA.
- Make strategic decisions and provide leadership and direction to project managers so to implement those decisions.
- Review all project Change Orders for pricing approval, OEE/schedule impact, tracking process, and profitability.
- Meet with each Project Manager within the group on regular basis to review project status and ensure the readiness and quality for a successful delivery (open points, schedule, and financial).
- Guide Project Managers to proactively identify risks, develop a plan, and escalate to the General Manager or Department managers to take recovery action.
- Support the Project Manager by participating in daily debug huddle or weekly team/customer meetings depending the phase of the project or based on level of risk.
- Act as a point of escalation for each Project Manager within the group for internal and customer concerns.
- Champion project management process and procedures, ensuring consistency that procedures are followed, documented, and signed off.
- Collaboratively develop and implement process improvements to help ensure the quality execution of projects.
- Be in regular communication with the Manager of Sales regarding the project pipeline.
- Ensure adequate staffing for current and future projects, including assignment of PRMA’s to new projects.
- When appropriate, task individual PRMA’s within the group with reviewing potential projects to be quoted for scope of work, critical processes, URS requirements (OEE, scrap, etc.), estimated labor, material costs, and project schedule.
- Resource Management – mediate conflicts that arise between Project Managers and collaborate with Department Managers to identify area of opportunities.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Employment Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid state Driver license and be eligible to obtain a passport for international travel.
Professional & Technical Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Project Management or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project Manager position with an automation focus.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a Manager of Project Management position.
- Education in PMO and Risk Management.
Other Job-Related Experience or Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 20% of the year as requested and on short notice.
- Must be available to work hours necessary to meet deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industrial automation experience
- Medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing industry knowledge
- Software experience: Microsoft Office/365
- Experience in a role supervising or managing others
