Arconic is currently in search of an Wellness Center Manager to join our Davenport Works Manufacturing Plant based in our Lafayette, IN location.

The Wellness Center Manager will provide leadership, supervision, and systems development for the occupational health clinic within Arconic. You will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and providers operating a 24-hour facility. The Wellness Center Manager is accountable supporting a headcount of approximately 700 personnel including production, maintenance, and salaried employees.

The Wellness Center Lead reports to the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager and will be responsible fielding calls off-shift as needed. The Wellness Center Manager works daytime hours Monday through Friday between 7am-5pm.

 

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provides supervision of the 24x7 medical staff including physicians, nurses, Specialists, and EHS professionals.  (Medical related duties only).
  • Coaches /mentors supervision on transitional work to ensure successful return to work process.  Short term/long term disability management;   
  • Manages fiscal activities and continuously improving the efficiency of the operations; including setting up requisitions and purchase orders in oracle and approving accounts for payment. 
  • Establishes and monitors the EHS standards in regards to injury/illness prevention, fire, severe weather and infection control of the clinic staff; promotes health management and prevention of illness;  Develops, administers and maintains policies and procedures consistent with Alcoa's Health Protocols and local regulations; 
  • Ensures continuing education of medical staff and maintenance of appropriate licenses and certifications.   
  • Coaching and counseling all level of the organization through the medical management process (hourly, supervision and management staff) to drive appropriate transitional work accommodation and ensure an efficient return to work process.   Manages fit for duty exams, which often times requires significant conflict management skills to ensure proper collection and completion.   
  • Manages and directs plant wide health and Wellness program including health education, accident prevention and bi-annual health screenings of participating employee population. 
  • Assesses and treats injuries and illnesses to plant employees on company premises. 
  • Provides health education and counseling to employees. 
  • Performs all types of physical exams including Post offer, return to work, surveillance and acute illness evaluations. 
  • Manages the Health Services facility ensuring all equipment is in compliance with local and Alcoa Standards. 
  • Maintains and audits employee medical records.   
  • Performs annual HIPPA and Medical Records Confidentiality training to all involved staff. 
  • Maintains liaison with area physicians allowing close interaction related to worker’s compensation claims. 
  • Reviews all abnormal test results, referring abnormal to the appropriate person for handling. 
  • Creates and maintains all databases containing surveillance tracking data, physical’s due, and CTP to ensure compliance with annual testing. 
  • Completes all scheduling of employees for exams due. This includes close contact with departments to ensure minimal interruption to production activities. 
  • Maintains urine drug screen program, this includes new hire, for cause, last chance or any other requested testing. 
  • Implement and manage new occupational med programs and continuous improvement efforts. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Registered Nurse with 8 years of experience 
  • Minimum five year’s experience in an occupational health services environment and Workers Comp case management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a broad range of individuals and functions both inside and outside the organization
  • Microsoft Office knowledge especially in Word and Excel
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel 0-25% of the time
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.

  • Experience in a leadership role in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • A demonstrated history of driving results
