We are looking for a Lab Tech I to join our NAG team in Geismar, LA.

This position is responsible for quality assurance testing of in process samples, raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods within the scope of the Company Quality Policy. Using appropriate software to evaluate data based on internal and external specifications, support the continuous improvement of lab and plant processes through QA/QC activities and meet and/or exceed customer expectations.

 

During your 12-hour shift as a Lab Tech I, you will

 

  • Analyze raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and other chemical samples to evaluate their suitability against established specifications, ensuring the quality and availability of the final product.
  • Provide quality data and collaborate with the Lab Supervisor and Production personnel to drive innovation and continuous improvement in lab and plant processes.
  • Know, understand and utilize software tools such as Lotus Notes, LabWare, SAP, and Microsoft Office to enhance quality reporting and data management.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is suitable through proper operation, maintenance, calibration, verification, and quality control activities.
  • Generate quality and statistical data to support plant personnel in improving process control, meeting customer requirements, and enhancing product quality characteristics.

If you...

 

  • Hold a 2-year Associate’s degree in Chemistry or a technical degree in analytical testing (preferred), and have 0–2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing lab environment.
  • Have a basic understanding of general chemistry, including quality assurance and quality control techniques.
  • Understand the theory, operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lab instruments such as gas chromatographs, viscometers, spectrophotometers, pH meters, and titrators.
  • Are familiar with math and statistics as applied in a laboratory setting.
  • Have foundational knowledge of ISO, RCMS, and cGMP quality system requirements.
  • Possess basic computer skills and are comfortable using tools like Microsoft Office, Power BI, SAP, and Lotus Notes.
